Some people just want to drive a shiny car... and that's ok.

February 16, 2022

Not everyone is a car-washing fanatic, but everyone likes driving a shiny car.

Fresh Start Detail Customers

I realize that I'm different than most folks.

I get extreme satisfaction when I transform a dirty, scratched car into a jewel that shines like the sun and reflects like your bathroom mirror.

Most people appreciate this level of detail and experience for what I do for a living, but let's admit it... most people also don't want to spend hours and days just washing and detailing their car several times a year.

Most people just want to drive a clean shiny car without all the work.

This is why people neglect their cars all winter long during the rainy season. Because who wants to go through all that effort and expense of washing and waxing their car only to have it get filthy in the first mile in the rain?

So you leave your car dirty ALL. WINTER. LONG. Not good! Deep down you know this isn't good but why waste your time and effort and money for just a few hours of having a shiny car, only to see it wiped out by the never ending winter rain?!

There is a solution, and I have it.

You see, this is exactly why ceramic paint coatings where invented.

To make it easy for you to always be driving a clean shiny car with minimal effort.

After I've applied a ceramic coating to your car, you just wash it and BLING, you have a freshly detailed car.

And it lasts, year after year.

No more waxing, no more polishing, no more stains on your paint from bird poo, tree sap, bug splatters or waterspots.

I mean really, how easy is that?

The problem is, it's too easy. Most people don't believe it. Sounds like snake oil. Can't be true.

But this is why you see 5-10 year old cars shining far better than yours. ALL. THE. TIME. (Yes even in the dark ugly nasty winter.)

It's the secret for people who love that sense of pride driving a shiny clean car ALL. THE. TIME.

I won't even go into the side benefits of you saving tons of money due to much higher resale value of your car... I'll do another blog post just on that topic alone.

If you want that feeling of driving a clean shiny car, and you are one of those people who feel a sense of pride in keeping your car clean, stop by my shop anytime for a free ceramic coating consultation and quote. I can even show you cars that have had my ceramic coating on them for many many years so you can see for yourself what the long-term benefits are.

Why Better Transparency Matters in the Car Detailing & Ceramic Coating Industry
By Jason Barker June 8, 2026
Why Ceramic Coating is Mandatory for Matte Satin Paint and Decals There is no denying the dramatic increase in popularity that matte finishes, satin wraps, and bold vinyl graphics have on modern automotive culture. Whether it’s a stealthy aftermarket wrap or an ultra-premium factory finish like Mercedes’ Magno series or BMW’s Frozen paint, a non-glossy surface gives a vehicle a unique and sometimes aggressive look. But buying a matte vehicle usually comes with a massive wave of immediate anxiety for the owner because they're frequently not sure of how to care for this style of paint. Should you use wax, a sealant perhaps, or an off-the-shelf DIY ceramic coating? As a professional detailer who has spent over 31 years in the trenches of preservation-focused detailing, I hear the same questions every single week at my shop in Beaverton: “How do I protect this paint? Can I ceramic coat it? And if I do, is it going to turn my beautiful matte finish into a shiny, glossy, blotchy mess?” If you are asking these questions, you are asking the right things! But there is a lot of misinformation out there. Let’s clear up the confusion once and for all. Not only can you ceramic coat matte paint and decals, but if you want to keep your vehicle looking pristine, a dedicated ceramic coating that is designed specifically for non-glossy finishes is practically mandatory. This blog post is a deep dive into why prevention is your only line of defense, the actual science of how a matte coating bonds to your car, and how we prove it doesn’t add artificial shine.
