and will stay cleaner longer between washes. No more dragging out your garden hose and making a wasteful mess! Your car will now shine for years because Opti-coat is not a wax or sealant that will wash away or break down over time with exposure to chemicals and UV rays. Opti-Coat bonds permanently with your car’s factory clear coating and will not de-laminate.
A single layer of Opti-Coat Pro Plus ceramic paint coating measures 2 microns thick; when compared to other paint protection products Opti-Coat is over 100 times thicker, with tests showing waxes measuring less than 0.02 microns thick.
This allows Opti-Coat Pro Plus to effectively absorb damage
that would otherwise get through cheaper ceramic paint coatings and damage your paint.
The occurrence of swirl marks are also reduced because Opti-coat is so much harder than your factory paint. Unlike your factory clear coat, Opti-Coat will not etch or dissolve when in contact with common environmental nasties such as bird droppings, bug splatters, pollen deposits, and tree sap, thereby preserving your factory paint and maintaining a glossy finish.
Want a more in-depth technical explanation?
Your vehicle has 2 layers of paint, a thin “base-coat” layer which contains the actual color pigment, and a top “clear-coat” layer which is clear and much thicker.
The job of the top “clear-coat” layer is to take all the damage, abuse, and neglect, and to absorb UV rays in order to protect the thinner base-coat color layer from sun fading.
When a car is brand new it shines like crazy right?… but after months and years of washing and exposure to the environment like pollen, dirt, bug splatters, mud, UV rays, road salt, tree sap, bird poop, road tar, overspray from your neighbor painting his deck, yellow road paint splatters, hard water spots, etc. your clear-coat quickly starts to degrade and doesn’t shine as much as it used to. It is also unable to do its job of protecting the valuable base-coat if it gets too damaged and too thin. (Think of it like your child’s sunblock wearing off after a few hours in the sun, especially if they’re playing in the water.)
Sure a professional detail shop can remove most of the contaminants and polish your clear-coat to restore the shine, but each time they do this they must polish off a thin layer of that protective clear-coat, making it thinner and thinner, and therefore less able to protect your base-coat layer. Doing this once or twice is fine, but eventually you run out of clear-coat and now you’re looking at a very expensive repaint job.
The more you neglect the clear-coat, the more damage is done until eventually even the best detail shop cannot save the paint because the clear-coat will be too thin or have too much damage to safely polish it. This is when you see cars looking their worst, and it requires a very expensive repaint job to fix it, at least $5,000 and up. Your car may still be mechanically sound and have a decade of life left in the engine, but if the paint is damaged, the value of your car plummets and it looks terrible and worst of all, you lose all that pride you once had in your beautiful new car.
The solution to all of this is Opti-coat Pro Plus. OCP+ is a liquid ceramic paint coating that I install on top of your clear-coat to completely eliminate contaminants and sun from degrading your paint. It cures into a very hard and thick coating that lasts the life of your car and never needs to be reapplied. It works so well because almost nothing can permanently stick to Opti-coat Pro Plus, and it has powerful UV blockers.
